A vast dark stone hall with a gold column of light falling to a wet floor

Principles

How the work is kept.

These are not slogans for a pitch. They are the constraints we use when a decision could go either way.

01

Atmosphere is the argument

A world must be felt before it is explained. Scale, weather, silence, and light do more work than a cutscene ever will.

02

The player is not a passenger

We assume intelligence. We do not underline the moral, and we do not hold a hand that does not need holding.

03

Restraint is a production value

We would rather finish a smaller true thing than announce a larger false one. Cadence follows craft — never the reverse.

04

Myth, not inventory

What a world believes about itself matters more than a wiki. Lore is a residue of play, not a homework assignment.

05

Silence is a material

Empty space is not unfinished space. We compose with absence the way a sculptor composes with stone.

06

Machines, made humanely

Turing in the name is not ornament. We are interested in minds, limits, and the old question of imitation — including our own.
